About sorting results
Sorting is available for all results lists in the Daily Dispatch. In the upper right hand corner of the results by item display you will see either a menu of sort options (see Fig. 4), and the types of sorting available are detailed below.

- not sorted: results are returned in the order in which they appear in the database (by default, this is the same as a "date ascending" sort)
- date ascending: results are returned by date from older to more recent
- date descending: results are returned by date from more recent to older
- frequency: results are returned by the number of search term hits within each result. If your search hits 25 times in a single newspaper, that newspaper will appear before a newspaper in which the search term hits 15 times.
